Our goal and promise is to bring reconciliation and cooperation to the Korean peninsula by connecting the severed two Koreas.
Hyundai Asan has been consistently dedicated in its efforts
to open the way with North Korea by the launching Cruise
tours to Mt. Kumgang, the building of the Kaesong Industrial
Complex, the exchanging of culture and sports and the
support of family reunions, and in 1998, the late Hyundai
Group founder Chung Ju-yung brought cattle to North Korea.
Even though we faced many obstacles and adversities, those times were meaningful and worthwhile.
North and South Koreans, who once considered each other
strangers, now meet, talk, cry, and laugh together at
Mt. Kumgang. The Kaesong Industrial Complex, where tens
of thousands of North and South Korean workers are working
together, became the testing place for peace and prosperity
on the Korean peninsula.
It is time to walk together. Inter-Korean business is
not something Hyundai can do alone. Wide support, understanding,
and participation will be essential from all Koreans for
the success of this business.
